The Main House

Come stay at the historic Main House at Meadowburn Farm

Come experience the country grandeur of the Main House at Meadowburn Farm. Set in the midst of the historic gardens created by Helena Rutherfurd Ely at the turn of the last century, this historic mansion is perfect for a family reunion, company retreat, or special gathering. Occupied by only two families over the past 200 years, the house retains the authentic charms of a historic colonial American manor with the European furnishings and comforts of its current owners.

The Main House and gardens are on the National Register of Historic Places and are surrounded by the fields and vitality of Meadowburn’s working farm, which consists of approximately 600-acres of meadows, woodlands, and rocky hillsides along the Wawayanda Creek. Meadowburn Road is a quiet country road making this extensive house perfect for relaxation, contemplation, serious reading and walking, and a perch from which to explore everything from New York City (55 miles away), to the Village of Warwick (10 minutes away), to the Appalachian Trail (right next door), to the Vernon ski slopes (10 minutes away).

Guests of the Main House are welcome to wander the gardens and grounds of Meadowburn Farm. Please note that garden access is not exclusive; caretakers live onsite in the carriage house and the gardens are occasionally open to tours.

For an additional fee, the gardens and select fields can be rented for predetermined times for exclusive access and events. Please inquire about pricing.

The Main House is just over 8000 square feet in living space. The ground floor has a large living room, parlor, library, dining room, butler’s pantry, kitchen, breakfast room, laundry, and a large half bathroom. The dining room and parlor share a double door and can be opened to expand the dining area for larger groups.

The second floor has the six bedrooms and bathrooms, plus two bathrooms not attached to specific bedrooms, a small study and a linen closet. The third floor has three gabled bedrooms, two bathrooms and a study.
